Our Programs

Project King

Project King is a mentoring program that emphasizes group mentoring. In Project King, our Kings are grouped with a male mentor and go through a series of workshops designed to focus on character development, professional development, emotional intelligence, civics, and more with a unique cultural lens ensuring that we are constantly placing our Kings in the center of our programming.

Our goal is to provide our Kings with the tools and resources necessary to succeed in life as well allow them the ability to develop friendships with their peers and have life-long mentors. Bloom believes our Kings are the future and the investments we make in them today will provide everlasting results in the future.

They will have the opportunity to meet various professionals from a range of industries such as law, medicine, engineering, trade professions, and more!

Royal MENtality

Royal Mentality is our career and college preparatory program designed to ensure that our freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors are equipped with the workforce readiness skills, professional development and academic support necessary for their post-secondary transition.

Royal Mentality focuses exclusively on career and college preparatory topics. Our curriculum includes college essay and application preparation, discussions around College Life/Greek Life, and time management. We travel to selected colleges/universities to tour campuses and bring local college representatives to our Kings to conduct workshops. Furthermore, we introduce and build relationships with trade professionals within the community.

We want to see all of our Kings attend a college/university, but are also aware that college may not be for everyone. Accordingly, we include job and professional development skills within our curriculum, such as: resume writing, mock interviewing, job searching and career preparation. We also strive to partner with local employers to provide job shadowing and internship opportunities while our Kings are in high school.

The most unique aspect about Royal Mentality is our Passport Program. Our Passport Program is synonymous to the 21st Century Scholars Track Program. We prepare our Kings to complete a series of academic and career related tasks during the program year. These tasks may include networking with their high school academic counselors and/or planning a civic engagement leadership project. The tasks set forth are designed to teach our Kings accountability, responsibility, and overall conduct!

One of the key benefits of completing the tasks outlined in our program is the Kings having access to the 21st Century Scholarship (if qualified) and placing them in the right position for college acceptance or landing a job.
